Key facts
The Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU) is updating the operating systems and the Office products of the Confederation with the APS2020 programme. By the end of the first quarter of 2019, the programme will equip more than 40,000 workstations with Windows 10 and Office 2016. The main objective of the programme is to sustainably ensure the operational security of office automation. At the same time, harmonisation of the associated production platforms is being sought, provided that the cost-efficiency analysis to be drawn up in a programme project shows enough potential for an efficiency increase and operational cost savings. Three service providers are concerned: the Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT), the Armed Forces Command Support Organisation (CSO) and the IT section of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
